Mission Statement:
FOTE Outreach & Community Development Program's objective is to bring lower-income families, and individuals to a point of self-sufficiency. We will assist our clients and program participants by servicing their physical, mental health, employment, educational, vocational, social and spiritual needs. We will teach them how to empower themselves, by giving them the tools necessary to become self - sufficient and to be prepared to accept the responsibility of independent living. We will help our clients find the assistance that they need to build a stable living environment for a brighter tomorrow.
We also assist Grandparents who are raising their grandchildren in their homes through our referral service program. Through our elderly services program, we help assist our elderly clientele who are living alone with no other assistance and solely depend on social security income. Referrals may be given to help with housing inspections, maintenance and household needs and companionship.
Vision Statement:
To create a program, which will help assist “homeless”, low- income families and individuals locate affordable housing, job training, to bring about permanent self-sufficiency
Goal:
FOTE Outreach & Community Development Program's goal is to own apartments to provide housing to help “homeless”, low- income families and individuals to over come the domino effect of homelessness. During today's hard economic times there has been an increase of families who are in need. More working homeless are seeking housing in motels/hotels, the families may have encountered this situation through a loss of a job, foreclosure of their home, or health issues. It is our goal to help resolve those issues. Our goal for 2021/2022 is to relaunch our Transitional Housing Program so that we can help families re-establish themselves while providing a safe and stable living environment for their children. Families that are seeking housing are currently living in hotels, with other family members or staying from place to place with no home to call their own. Their children suffer from being shuffled from place to place, while their schooling suffers. Poor academic scores and high absenteeism trends those student without a stable home. It is our goal to end this cycle.
Capital Campaign:
FOTE Outreach & Community Development Program's Capital Campaign is for the acquisition and renovation of older properties, which will produce affordable housing for the homeless and lower income families. FOTE will actively seek grant funding, donations from businesses, individuals and churches, and sponsor on-going fundraisers that will benefit our Capital Campaign.
